Firstly, congratulations on getting yourself some amazing rare breed longwool fleece. Now let's get you going!

Raw fleece otherwise known as "greasy fleece' is wool that has not ungone any processes other than: -skirting (removing the soiled fleece). -light picking (picking out large bit of hay and straw). Essentially you are getting fleece straight from the sheep back so you can enjoy washing spinning or felting your own fleece your way with the garentee that no one has messed around with your wool. Longwool wensleydale fleece has the extra bonus of making fantastic worsted wool. You can die the wool but we love the natrually rustic colours from theses amazing sheep.
