About the event
A Knitting & Fibre Retreat on the Cardigan Coast

Join Anton of Raw Wool Company and Jonny of Garthenor Organic for an exceptional four-night retreat on the spectacular Cardigan coast of West Wales.
This is not simply a knitting retreat. It is an immersive journey into the world of British fibre, heritage craftsmanship and slow living, combining hands-on learning and luxurious accommodation in one unforgettable experience.
Together, we will explore the rich traditions of British knitting, deep dive into the journey from fleece to finished yarn, and enjoy behind-the-scenes at Garthenor’s own spinning mill - the only worsted spinning mill in Wales. Under Jonny’s guidance, you will experience the process first-hand, gaining a deeper understanding of the skills, knowledge and artistry that is involved transforming fibre into yarn.
All of this takes place against the backdrop of the breathtaking Welsh coastline while staying in an extraordinary country manor house, where character, comfort and charm meet in equal measure.
Nestled within five acres of enchanting gardens, the manor (we will call home during our stay) offers beautifully interiors, hidden bookcase doors, woodland hot tubs, roaring fires and elegant spaces designed for relaxation, creativity and connection.
Throughout the retreat we will wander picturesque harbours, explore the Welsh countryside, breathe in the sea air and perhaps even embrace the invigorating tradition of a cold-water swim. Between workshops and walks, there will be ample time to settle into a comfortable chair with your knitting, enjoy good conversation and down time by the fire.
Anton and Jonny’s shared experience of growing up on sheep farms rooted in fibre farming, alongside running yarn companies with sustainability at their core and a deep passion for British yarn, brings a rare depth of knowledge to this retreat, making it something truly special.
You will leave with new skills, fresh inspiration, lasting memories and friendships forged through a shared love of fibre and craft.
Is This Retreat for You?
