Traditionally crafted from old shipping sails, these hardy garments were designed to protect fisherfolk from the elements as they worked the perilous waters off of Cornwall. Drawing inspiration from this coastal heritage, we present the Storm Smock, a tribute to the resilient spirit of the Newlyn fisherfolk and the time-honoured craft of smock-making.
Just as the fishing smocks were a blend of necessity and practicality, so too is this pattern, combining functional attire with heritage fashion reinvented. The Storm Smock echoes the textures and patterns found in the heart of Cornwall, reflecting jagged rocks, and roaring seas that shape the land.
